Jagua Gel Aftercare

Jagua is a fruit, if you have sensitive skin or allergy to fructose and berries. JAGUA IS NOT FOR YOU.

In this blog post I will be explaining step by step the aftercare process you have to follow to achieve the best results. No disappointments warrantee if you follow the instructions, so read carefully.

At this point we have a ton of experience with Jagua gel, this goopy gel, is a little different than henna paste and very sneaky! It’s kind of translucent and you can smear your gel in unexpected places, don’t even notice it… and find out the stains next day, drama.

So this are the very basic aftercare instructions to enjoy your Jagua stain the best:

The fist step is to:

DONT TOUCH the Jagua design after is applied on the skin.

You simply have to leave it alone, and be very mindful that every little dot counts, specially if you have your fingers done, the gel can get very smeary in between the fingers. Not move a lot will help too.

Make sure to bring the appropriate clothing if you want another part of the body done so the design have time to dry without you being naked all the time, just kidding. But also the hair is important to have it up because it can be super messy smearing the gel all over your neck.

Try to bring your way of payment out in advance, and also make someone drive you, so you don’t have to drive right after the appointment, you have to be able to do nothing that involves the area of the design at least for 40 minutes.

Allow at least 2-4 hours to dry completely.

The longer you leave the Jagua gel on, the better and darker the stain will be. We usually recommend at least 2 hours up to 4 hours, but definitely when the gel is dry it feels like a sticker on your skin so is easy to move at that stage, so you can live it longer, the stain will last a little longer too.

I don’t recommend to sleep with the Jagua gel on the skin or even cover it with some cloth or plastic will affect the design… the gel can “reactivate” with sweet or water, just by doing the regular things will ruin the design if the gel gets active, the design can be permanently ruined (ok temporary just for 2 weeks) So be careful, if you plan to do a ton of things, just remove the gel and continue with your life.

WASH IT UNDER RUNNING SOAPY WATER.

Other way is to peel it carefully with some vegetable oil, like coconut, or some of the Pure Organic Aftercare Balm.

Wash it on the under the room temperature water, and if you peel it make sure you do it in the trash bin don’t leave the peels on the floor, they will stain your feet. Do it carefully.

Don’t panic! It will look pale and blurry at this stage.

I have “the phonecall” at this stage… ‘I just removed the Jagua gel and I cant see anything, is this thing even work?

Yes!

Your Jagua stain will reach the final dark color in 12 to 48 hours after and will last 1-2 weeks.

Now a you need to know about of the powerful stain of the Jagua, even when you already removed the gel it keep staining everything it touches, yes, you read it! IT STAINS EVEN AFTER YOU REMOVED THE GEL OFF THE SKIN! So be very mindful specially at night, in your sleep, where do you put your hands when you sleep? Hope not in your face! I find out that I sleep with the my arms crossed and the marks of the Jagua design were totally transferred to my arm. I will exfoliate and will be gone in about 1-2 days.

About exfoliation, Jagua fades quicker if you go to a swimming pool, that have chlorine, or you take a lot of showers with soap, or you go to a sauna, go to the ocean, al kinds of exfoliation will fade the design quicker, because Jagua only stains the top layers of the skin.

Another thing to consider is Suntanning sprays or treatments can ‘occupy’ the cells for the Jagua so it will not stain, try to plan your appointment of Jagua one day before or even the same day so you have the Jagua gel completely dry on your skin at the time of the spraying. That will ensure that the skin absorbs the Jagua first.

If you have any questions you can always contact me.

Enjoy your Jagua design is yours for 2 weeks, or more if you follow the aftercare…
