Some texts recommend heating the oil 48 to 72 hours at a controlled temperature of 100° F. Recommended to make them on a slow cooker or over a water bath. Make sure no water gets into the oil. Turn off heat and allow cooling. Once oil is cooled, strain using a cheesecloth.

The patience method:

3-6 weeks

Pour oil over the herbs slowly. Add enough oil to completely cover all the herbs, filling right up to the brim of the jar. Cover the jar, give it a few shakes, and put it in a cool place inside your house. Every now and then, give your jar a shake. It will be ready to use in 3-6 weeks. Strain using cheesecloth.

You can use a dropper bottle to keep the oil or with your fingers apply this oil one hour before hair wash day, massage your scalp completely. Rinse and continue with your wash routine.
