Instructions

Lemon Juice Recipe *Note 1

  • Mix the henna powder with the lemon juice in a bowl, stir, stir, stir. The paste will be thick, like mashed potatoes.
  • Add essential oils and sugar, stir, stir, stir then cover the surface with some wrap that won't let the air in. Let it sit in a warm place for 12-24 hours. 75-80*F approximately, we chose the top of the fridge. *Note 3
  • After letting the henna mature for 12-24 hours is ready to be used or stored in the freezer. Adjust the consistency to your liking at this time. The paste should have the consistency of toothpaste, very smooth and creamy. It is too thick add a little distilled water or lemon juice, if is too thin add a pinch of henna powder.

Water Recipe *Note 2

  • Mix the henna powder with the distilled water in a bowl, stir, stir, stir. The paste will be thick, like mashed potatoes.
  • Add essential oils and sugar, stir, stir, stir then cover the surface with some wrap that won't let the air in. Let it sit in a warm place for 12-24 hours. 75-80*F approximately, we chose the top of the fridge. *Note 3
  • After letting the henna sit for 6-8 hours. Check the stain regularly. Do a 5 minute spot test on your palm. When the stain is bright orange your paste is ready. Water mixes are ready faster that lemon mix so you'll need to start checking for dye release at about 6 hours. Adjust the consistency to your liking at this time. The paste should have the consistency of toothpaste, very smooth and creamy. It is too thick add a little distilled water or lemon juice, if is too thin add a pinch of henna powder.

How to Cone Henna Paste

  • Cone it up. Once the paste is completely mixed and at your desired consistency you are ready to fill your cones. You can fill the cones with a spoon directly from the bowl to the cones, with care of not get all the top full of henna so you can't seal them completely. You can use the same system to fill the jacquard squeeze bottles.
  • From a zip lock bag: pour the mix into a zip lock plastic bag, empty the air out of the bag and seal it tightly. Push the paste towards one of the bottom corners of the bag making a huge cone. Cut a small piece of the corner of the bag. Insert the zip lock cone into the cone you want to fill and squeeze in the paste. Fill the cone until it's approximately 1/2 to 2/3 full, 1-3 tbsp.
    From a pastry bag: pour the mix into a pastry plastic bag, empty the air out of the bag and seal it tightly use tape or a rubber band. Push the paste towards one of the bottom corners of the bag making a huge cone. Cut a small piece of the corner of the bag. Insert the pastry bag cone into the cone you want to fill and squeeze in the paste. Fill the cone until it's approximately 1/2 to 2/3 full, 1-3 tbsp.
  • Seal tightly and store in the freezer 6-12 months on average.

Note 1 : Use yellow lemon juice from concentrate, it takes about 12-24 hours to prepare the paste application. Begin mixing the paste the day before you wold like to apply the. henna on the skin. 
Note 2 : It takes about 4-8 hours to prepare the paste from application. Begin mixing the paste the day before you would like to apply the henna on the skin.
Note 3 : Also you can set the paste bowl under a 40 watt bulb about 6-12 inch from it, check the temperature with a candy thermometer for accuracy.

COMMON NAME: Amla

OTHER NAME: Amalaki, Indian gooseberry

BOTANICAL NAME: Phyllantus emblica L.

PLANT FAMILY: Euphorbiaceae

SINONYMS: Emblica officinalis Gaertn.

PART USED: In traditional Indian medicine the dried or fresh fruit is used, although in some schools of Ayurvedic medicine parts of the entire tree are included in preparations, including the fruit, seed, leaves, root, bark and flowers.

OVERVIEW: Fruits Powder without seeds.

INTRODUCTION: Amla is also known as Indian gooseberry, phyllanthus emblica or emblica officinails. Amla tree is about 15ft. to 25 ft. high. The fruit is round and green to greenish yellow in colour. Amla is a commonly used ingredient in most of the ayurvedic preparations in the form of fresh fruit, dried fruits, fruit pulp or as extract. The eminence of amla is so well recognized in ayurveda that all the famous ancient text have discussed its preventive, restorative and curative usefulness and extolled its extraordinary medicinal qualities. Amla is a rare fruit which contains all tastes except salty. With sourness as the foremost taste, it is at the same time sweet, astringent, bitter and pungent. It is light, dry and cold in effect and the richest source of vitamin C.

PHYTOCONSTITUENTS: Emblicanin A and Emblicanin B, along with pedunculagin and punigluconin is the key ingredients in amla. Emblicanins is a combination of Gallic acid or Ellagic acids&Vitamin C. It has also protein, minerals, carbohydrates and fibre. The mineral and vitamin contains include calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene and vitamin B complex.
